Dana Consler ’72 has made a gift of $1,500,000 to establish an endowment benefiting the men's golf team at Rollins and establishing the Dana Consler Endowed Scholarship Fund to support undergraduate students.

Consler, retired Executive Vice President of Karpus Investment Management, studied history as an undergraduate student and went on to earn his MBA from Boston University. The Rollins community is grateful for his loyal support which is elevating the impact of a Rollins education in athletics and academics.

Consler said, "I wanted a college where I knew no one and my whole experience would be new and rewarding. After a few weeks on campus I knew Rollins was a perfect fit. Rollins gave me my start! A small college that offered ample opportunities for involvement and growth from academics and athletics. I'm grateful and so pleased to be able to give back."

Since 1931, the men's golf team has competed in intercollegiate tournaments, won championships, and produced All-American Scholars. In their most recent season, the Tars took home the McDonough Cup, the Rollins College Invitational named after former Rollins golfer James McDonough. The team competes in the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) in the National Collegiate Athletics Association's (NCAA) Division II. Under the guidance of coach Kyle Frakes, the team has made 15 NCAA Tournament appearances and 14 players have been nominated to various All-American teams. Consler, a former member of the men's golf team, noted that walking onto the team as a student greatly enhanced his collegiate experience. His generous gift ensures that the program will have a steady operating budget, providing a top-tier experience for student-athletes on the team.

Rollins students annually receive $89 million in financial aid. Endowed scholarships provide essential support for students' pursuit of the highest-quality education in and outside the classroom and make Rollins more accessible for deserving students. With this gift, alumnus Dana Consler is ensuring student success in perpetuity.
